Accommodations in Bukit Lawang

Absolutely loved my stay here, I highly recommend it! The room was cozy, spacious, and had a great view over the river. I even saw an orangutan and a few monkeys from my room. The staff was incredibly friendly. The atmosphere was really chill, with some staff members even playing guitar during the day. The food was tasty and reasonnably priced. Excellent customer services!

I liked everything! The location is so beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by rice fields. The restaurant is delicious, and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. I stayed somewhere else before in Bukit Lawang, but Gino's place was much better in every point, and actually cheaper. It is the perfect place to rest after a tiring trek :)

Comfy beds, modern style hostel dorm, wonderful staff, very helpful, bar down stairs but not noisy, right next to the swimming hole!

I liked everything! The room was spacious and clean, the bed was super comfy, my private outside space was huge and beautiful. The staff were always friendly and smiley and incredibly helpful. The food was delicious and the coffee was hot. I was made to feel very welcome. The hotel is located in a beautiful spot by the river and within walking distance of the jungle, a paradise that I didn't want to leave. My guide wisnu (Nu) was fabulous, he made my holiday absolutely perfect. He took me to the best places and was always happy, smiley and friendly, with lots of knowledge of the area. Not just a guide to me now, I also consider him a friend. He's given me some of my best memories and I can't thank him enough. I highly recommend Junia hotel to everyone. I'm a solo traveler, but this place is perfect for couples and families alike. I genuinely did not want to leave and as soon as I can, I will be back. Thank you guys for everything xxx

An amazing remote spot in the middle of nature, but still on walking distance from town. The lodges are very comfortable and impeccably clean. It’s a shared bathroom, but very well maintained and loved the design.

The hotel was very clean, had a massive bed with a mosquito net with no holes. The bathroom and shower were huge. The porch had an awesome view right along the river which was great for watching the rain storms and trekkers coming down the river. There’s a prime swimming spot just across the grassy gnoll. It was also a very quiet part of the river so it was often pretty tranquil and relaxing. The staff was great. Thomas checked in regularly and arranged everything for us, he also allowed us to put everything on a tab and pay by card at the end and since there are no ATMs in the village this was a huge help. The food was good and quick and open pretty late. The internet only ever got spotty during torrential rainstorms and even then mostly held out. The AC worked flawlessly. We also did our trek through them and Ren and Arnold were amazing. They were so knowledgeable, friendly, and understanding. The trek was difficult but incredibly rewarding. One of us got sick and Renwa worked with us to adjust our trek so we could still have fun catch some rare animals while making sure the sick person had a quick and easier trek back to the hotel. We saw 90% of the animals on the Bukit Lawang Bucket List. And the food we had for dinner on the Trek was the best meal I’ve had in Indonesia so far which considering we were in the jungle was very impressive. The guesthouse is in an amazing location, on the shore of the river. The rooms are cosy and have a nice terrace facing the river. Andy and his bother were very nice and helpful all the time. The banana pancakes for breakfast are delicious.

We stayed four nights. We were situated in an “annex” guesthouse that was right on the river with a balcony. Beautiful. Can’t speak to the main building.

Great accommodations and tours

Absolutely loved the staff, everyone was so helpful and kind. They made everything feel so easy including organizing the jungle trek. Ezzy and Arang were awesome guides. Food was good and rooms had hot water

the staffs are great. they are very helpful. the location is great if you like nature. there is no aircon in the room, but we sleep comfortably. don't forget the insect repellant. it's nature after all. you can't avoid insects especially moquitoes.

There are several rooms and each is unique, We stayed in the one above the bar area which meant we had good Wifi in our rooms, which I'm not sure is necessarily the case in some other rooms. The view of the river from our balcony was superb. The beds were comfortable. Our bathroom was outside but spectacular with hot showers and still the privacy you need. All the staff went out of their way to do anything for you. Definitely recommend.

The location was fabulous, right on the edge of the National Park. Orangutans were viewable at close quarters from our cabin on one morning. Dedi and his team were lovely, the service and food excellent.

Beautiful place to stay and a really good jungle trek with nice guides. Jhony, Havidz and Adam were the best!

I loved staying here so much! It is literally IN THE JUNGLE and we could see monkeys from our room!!! I also took a 3 day trek in the Jungle with the owner and his team! We had the time of our lives and saw Orangutans, monkeys and amazing birds! Putra , our host, made sure to help us see wildlife as much as possible and took us to locations nearby to see Orangutans. His wife Maya is sooooo friendly and an absolutely amazing cook! We ate so much delicious food right at the accommodation which has a restaurant attached. We also got to meet other members of the family and the team and spend lovely time with them. There is a wonderful, crystal clear, jungle river nearby in walking distance to cool off and have a swim and plenty of adorable animals to watch. A huge plus is that the bed is super comfy and the whole accommodation is newly built and very clean.

Property was clean and overlooked the river view. My stay was excellent, and I also booked the jungle trek with them. It was absolutely amazing, and it was their own business. So it was a small group. Ricky and Anto were great with taking care of us. You should really try this activity! It’s very very worth it, and rest assured you are in good hands.

The property was located in a great part of Bukit Lawang and the owner and the staff were very nice and accommodating, quick to arrange anything and help with anything. The room itself was quite good, the bathroom clean. I also did a tour organised by the staff and it was amazing - did only 1 day and saw so many orangutans, we got fresh fruit and lunch and all together it was a wonderful experience!

This guesthouse is truly a gem, Brian makes sure you have an amazing stay! You can tell he really cares about his guests. The room and bathroom are very clean and comfortable. The food is incredible too (plenty of vegan and vegetarian options)! I did a 2 night jungle trek with them as well and everything was very well organised, great food and fruit on the trek, comfortable campsites by the river and close to a waterfall. You could tell that the guide really enjoyed being in nature, he had so much knowledge about the animals and plants and made us feel really safe. I got a bee sting and he had magic oil that made the sting disappear in just 30 min! I had a really great stay and trek with Brian and his team and definitely recommend them and would definitely come back one day! :)
