Accommodations in Chikuni

I liked everything about this hotel! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Neo checked us in after hours, as we were unable to get there within regular hours. Neo and Sho helped with bus schedules, taxi services, reservations, onsen recommendations, and basic local knowledge. I did not catch the names of our friendly Barista or the gal in the back, as they welcomed us every morning with delicious breakfasts and lattes that were included for hotel guests. Blue Star is located directly across from the Tsugeike resort and close to the convenience store, board rentals, eateries, and a bus stop.

We had a wonderful stay at Pension Kobekke with our 9-month old baby. We had read in other reviews that the owners would pick us up from the bus stop, but it was a bonus to learn that there were also multiple shuttles available throughout the day to take us to and from the local ski resort, as well as a shuttle service for dinner time. The rooms are much more spacious than anywhere else we’ve encountered in Japan, and the family that runs Pension Kobekke is so friendly and accommodating. Our baby had the best time in the kids area and we enjoyed the private bath facilities, which were kept clean. We ate dinner at the accommodation one night and the food was delicious and plentiful. There is also a communal lounge area with space to relax in massage chairs, which is great after a day of skiing! The local resort (Tsugaike) is perfect for beginners/intermediate and we hope to return again in the near future.

Amazing location, literally right next to the ski resort. The unit was modern, comfortable, clean, and spacious. Self check in process was easy.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was private, very clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The location was excellent. We didn’t have a car and relied entirely on buses and shuttles, and it was easy to get around from this spot. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, and Tsugaike Resort was conveniently accessible on foot, which made everything simple and stress-free.

The guesthouse is very close to the lifts at Norikura. And you can access Cortina from Norikura. Staff was very nice, everything was clean.

Opened for business in the middle of December 2024, I was SO LUCKY to find this place for a few day stay between Christmas and New Years! The location is perfect. It's on a quiet side street literally 5 minutes or less walking distance to the gondola at Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort and dozens of restaurants and bars. The local shuttle that takes you to all the other resorts is also that close, as well as the transfer bus to Nagano Station and the Shinkansen. As for the facility itself, it is exceptionally clean, updated, and comfortable. Each room has its own heater and my room had a HUGE closet with several hangers. There is a lounge where a basic breakfast is served with coffee. And finally, the staff... It is owned and operated by a super cool Frenchman and supported by his amazing girlfriend and a few of his family members and friends. They are warm, inviting and extremely helpful with recommendations regarding local travel, places to eat, things to do! I could not be happier with how nice and helpful they were to me and everyone that stayed there.

The location is very convenient, just a few minutes walk to Tsugaike Gondola station. Every morning there is a shuttle at 7:45 to Norikura/Cortina(need to sign in before 22:00), and also to the resorts in Hakuba Village at a later time. Best lodge for powder chasing.

Fabulous property short walk to main gondola station - very easy 5 minute stroll Loved the house, very comfortable for our group of 9 people. Warm and cosy. Loved the layout, bathrooms were great. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Tsugaike

I love my stay with the Butter Hotel, which is close to Cortina and a decent walk to Norikura, the staff and people here are very nice! I really enjoyed my stay here:) and would recommend this to fellow snowboarders

I use there for just staying for 1 night. I like owner’s quickly responsive and the room which is good enough for staying. I actually not experienced that much comfortable staying. I also appreciate that worm bath. It’s available on 4pm to 11pm, and you can use by yourself, not like Onsen style which everybody shares. The building is so old as make sound but rooms are pretty good Tatami style. They provide bath towel, face towel, toothbrush and rental hairdryer for free. Hot water and microwave is available for 24 hrs, and it’s so helpful for cup noodles.

Good location, right next to hakuba cortina. Easy transportation by bus to the other mountains! Everything was fairly clean and it was nice having separate rooms. Bathrooms were always available as well along with showers! And they had a washer and dryer!!!
