You know when you say, "It couldn't have been better"? Well, this is a case in point. I booked based on the good reviews on Booking.com, but I wasn't expecting such a special place. The family that runs it is incredibly kind and friendly. The nice thing is that if guests want, they can put tables together and eat breakfast or dinner together. The food they cook, authentic Sri Lankan food, is incredibly good, prepared by them, and the prices are incredibly fair. When I stayed there, almost all of us were solo travelers. We had really fun and enjoyable evenings. The owner helps you with whatever you need and is truly honest. I felt like I was part of the family. The rooms are simple but clean. There is no AC, but the ceiling fan was more than sufficient; none of us felt hot or had trouble sleeping. All in all, the perfect place!

Being in this house was one of the best things of my trip around the country. When we arrived there we experienced a full 2 nights in the Sri Lanka style. The woman was amazing, she take care of everything and treat us like her own family!!!! A part of the great house she has, she prepared us some of the amazing dishes from the country. I really recommend the house and of course stay and meet Sriyani (our mom in Sri Lanka)!!! Thank you so much for everything and see you soon!!!

The family were absolutely lovely. Breakfast was good and you can order dinner which was wonderful! Huge! They picked us up from bus station when we arrived. They will arrange a tuktuk to explore the area. It is about a 15 min walk from the main town but the centre is nothing special so we liked being in their house. They gave me a bracelet as a present when we left. The dad also does some amazing card tricks!

The stay at Corner Cottage was the highlight of our trip. This young couple is welcoming and energetic to create an exceptional yet homey experience for tourists. Make sure you request dinner! Amazing food and with a tuk tuk on site it was so convenient to get a ride to the bus and our own tour!

It was exceptional. The staff was professional and attentive and made us feel very welcome. The whole resort was clean, spacious and beautifully designed. It's located in a small forest with butterflies, pheasants, a variety of wild birds and cute chickens. You can take a walk, play badminton, go to the nearby lake or visit the temples in anuradhapura or mihintale - it's very close. The hosts can arrange tours as well - we went to Anuradhapura with a guide and it was very fun and a fair price. Also the food: try the Sri Lankan breakfast it's delicious! We loved the tree house - it was so relaxing when it was rainy. They even offered room service. :) long story short - a must stay. Ps: please note that there is nature around. It's a tree house in a jungle-like forest. There are occasionally frogs and other visitors on your terrace. We loved it though.

The best hostel I ever stayed at. The owner Jonti is a truly genuine and great guy that shines a warm welcoming feeling. Despite the cyclone Ditwah happening Jonti gave us great advice and took care of us. Really glad I was staying at his place when it occurred. Everything was clean and maintained, the view of his garden where you see plenty of different animals was amazing. Eventually I stayed there for 5 days.

We loved this homestay because: -large comfortable and super clean room. -host was so friendly and super helpful with our transportation needs and logistics -treated us like family -helped organize our sightseeing around town -everyday, tea/juice and cake/fruit were brought to our room during tea time -location was very near restaurants, grocery store, ATMs, beer store -on request, they can make breakfast and dinner -located on a very quiet street with a roof top city view
