Accommodations in Kirinda

It is a nice little hotel with a beautiful garden and nice villas. The staff is very friendly. The food is very tasty and overall worth what you pay there.

I did not stay here while in Kirinda due to limited space (the owner and I connected on Whatsapp and he helped in finding me another property nearby) but most of the people in my group did. I wanted to write a review based on my experience with the property and the communication with the host when they realized that they were double booked. We had dinner for 16 there and it was amazing. The Host family is great and the property is in an amazing location. My friends that stayed there loved it. It’s a little bit more expensive than some of the other options but from what I could see it’s worth it!

It’s is best hotel and nice location

A new place — upon arrival we were welcomed with some juice. The room was very well equipped and clean, with a bathroom that had everything we needed. There was a swimming pool and sun loungers available. The location is surrounded by nature — we could admire peacocks every day and there were plenty of birds, which was very relaxing. The owner helped us arrange a trip to Yala Park through a friend, which was very kind of him. When we returned, a delicious local meal was prepared for us for lunch. In the evening, a “night safari” trip was organized, and as a surprise, we got to enjoy a meal close to nature — also with local delicacies — for which we are very grateful. We have wonderful memories of our stay and highly recommend this place! 😁

What can we say? An unexpected and memorable stay here in this super comfortable room where we were thoroughly spoiled from beginning to end. Shehan, you are the perfect host and think of everything! Highlights of our short stay included walks along this stunning beach, the jeep trip to the safari where Shehan expertly and respectfully located so many beautiful animals including the pinnacle of the sightings – the majestic Lucas the leopard – and his queen too. We also saw a cobra! Finally the food! What culinary delights – the coffee cake on arrival – the beautifully cooked lobster and red snapper with elegant salad and rice – and a breakfast worthy of a 5* restaurant. All round top class! This quiet little cottage was a perfect place to base ourselves for a few days while we explored Yala, Lunugamvehera, Udawalawe, and Ella. Our hosts, Gayan and his family, went above and beyond to ensure we had a happy and comfortable visit, and we were honored to be their first guests through Booking.com. Their kindnesses included such touches as providing us with limes from their own tree and preparing us a special breakfast (including delicious milk rice) on our first day. They also showed us around town and even helped my friend find a shop that had some particular things she was looking for. The property itself is cozy and beautiful. If you sleep in the front room (the one with the king bed and small bed), you can fall asleep to the sounds of the distant sea even with the windows closed. If you prefer a more silent night, you will find that in the back room (the one with the loft bed). The front room opens to the outdoor living space you see in the photos. It is a beautiful place to sit with your morning coffee or to relax in the afternoon. The back room and the kitchen open to the outdoors, and there is a paved walkway connecting the back room, the kitchen, and the outdoor living space. There are friendly dogs who will hang out with you on the property, but they do not enter the porch/living area or the rooms. They are sweet, calm, pleasant company. There's a good restaurant next door, which is convenient for dinner. You could cook in the well-prepared kitchen, but we did not do this during our stay. We also did not walk to town, although you probably could. The hosts are planning to add a couple more rooms to the property over time, but for now, it's just this one perfect little cottage. Much as the name suggests, Garnet Yala Beach truly is a gem. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place near the parks who wants a peaceful beachy spot hosted by a lovely family.

Gorgeously situated on the lake, the swimming pool offers breathtaking views of the lake. The space was cosy. Our safari for Yala was expertly organised by the staff, who were incredibly kind and accommodating. There are no other options, thus the restaurant's great food is useful!

What a find! Yala Lodge is incredible. The views of peacocks, hornbills, water buffalo etc out our window was a unique experience. The villa was clean and comfortable. We loved the pool and the peace and quiet. You are in your own little world right outside Yala. The staff make this place extra special. Ruma went above and beyond for us. The mission and vision of this place appealed to us as we are also educators. Take the time to relax here on your next trip!

This is incredibly perfect place for a family that is managing by super nice family (thank you so much Anusha for all your kindness). The villa is cozy and has everything you need, the rooms are very comfortable and pool is amazing. The villa is located near the pound where you can watch different birds and even alligators. We were not much disturbed by insect and reptilians but at the same time you are in the centre of nature. The managing family is happy to provide you with breakfast, lunch and dinner for a very good price, we enjoyed it a lot. Definitely would come back

Santha and his family were very nice, friendly and helpful. The room was quite spacious, clean and well equipped. Santha took us on a safari in Yala, gave us very good tips for our stay and made sure that we feel good there. I definitely recommend!

Super unique property with wetlands surrounding it and owner’s special “pets”. Hosts were lovely and arranged amazing safari for me. They are very kind and helpful!! Highly recommend.

Very nice hotel. The rooms are large, clean and you feel comfortable right away. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food was very delicious. Overall a very pleasant stay and definitely recommended.

The hotel hospitality was great. Exceptional staff. Even at late night I was able to order from them and nominal fees was paid. The owner was extra nice and accommodated all my request. all of the amenities worked really well. yala travelers must have this hotel on their bucket list.

Spacious rooms, great balcony, clean and warm pool. The owner is a great cook! Breakfasts and dinners were really good. The hotel is new and clean. Considering that there are almost no shops and no evening life in Kirinda, it is very (very!) important to select a good hotel to have access to good food and some entertainment - pool and good chat. This hotel can offer you this.

This was one of the nicest places we stayed at in Sri Lanka! The hotel was absolutely beautiful but what made this place special was the people. We were welcomed and treated like family. We checked in a little late just due to exploring Sri Lanka and the GM even told us not to worry about check out time the next day- take our time, enjoy the pool and relax. The hotel only has 3 rooms so the staff is very attentive and take such great care of you. The meals provided by the chef were also delicious and very well prepared. Wonderful place - would highly recommend!
