Accommodations in Fenqihu

Excellent host, great location, highly recommend

Perfect location to see sunrise but it was cloudy we did see it. Fornaturely we saw the beautiful sea-clouds. We had our two dinners at the hotel. We all loved it, variety of vegatables, so so fresh and sweet. All dishes were delicious, yummy food. Fantastic services were provided by the hotel, they recommended car and driver service. The ease for us travelling around in Alishan and Fengqihu. Value for money and highly recommended. Friendly hotel owner and staff.

The place is quiet and cozy, run by a lovely family. You can feel they really care about their guests. It has a beautiful view of a tea plantation right in front, it's next to a great coffee shop, and there are a few walks you can do nearby. It's a bit of a ride to get to Alishan national park but the host always kindly offers to drive you to the nearest bus stop to get around. She was always asking us what we wanted to do and was very helpful. She doesn't speak English but uses a translator app on her phone so communication was always smooth.

The facilities are new and clean. Staff are polite and helpful (particularly Jing Ying from the breakfast restaurant). Breakfast was great. Great sunrise view from the hotel room.

Location, access to transportation, cleanliness

Immediately below the train (& bus) stations, on Jiufen Old Street, so location is perfect. As advertised, the hotel does make its own bento box, and it was awesome, although we did also want to try the bento from the station café. We chose the Japanese-style room, with tatami mat bed, and a wooden bath: this created the perfect (unusual for us) experience. The staff were absolutely awesome. The firefly tour was available for free for the hotel guests; we loved this.

Situated on a beautiful working tea plantation. The esthetics, decoration and cleanliness of the room.

+ The breakfast was simple but delicious. + The staff were very friendly and took great care of the guests. We asked for directions to bus stations and trails, and they even provided bus timetables and trail maps. + The location is right in front of the parking area and very close to the shuttle bus stop. + Although there is no elevator, they kindly assigned us a room close to the stairs as we had large luggage.

Great location to start exploring the different trails through tea fields and bamboo forests. The host family was amazing and went over and above picking us up or driving us to Fenqihu and Shizhou. The family even took us to a delicious dinner at a restaurant in town and allowed us to take their dog for a two-hour hike through the tea fields and the forest.

Kim from the frontdesk was amazing, very lovely, helpful and friendly. She provided us an itinerary for rainy days which was nice. We received a free upgrade to a room with bathtub. The room was 1 hour before check-in time ready. It was located at the end of the corridor and was quiet, no noise from the corridor or neighbors. It was very clean, the bathroom equipped with a Japanese toilet and linnen also. Beds are very comfortable (for European standards), size is about 160 x 200 cm and we loved the black out curtains. AC worked perfectly and quiet. Western and Asian breakfast available which is different every day, not too much choice but just enough. At the breakfast area you can get free snacks and tea/water throughout the day. Free umbrella service available for rainy days. Recommended!

It feels homey and very clean. The room was surprisingly big for us. We spent our honeymoon here for 3 nights and we loved it so much! The views, the breakfast, the staff, the sunrise and the location was great! They sometimes offer free car ride to the bus station. We recommend this for honeymoon! We did not even mind going to the Alisan Sunrise because we were so satisfied with the sunrise and tea garden right in front of the b&b.

Little homestay on the Main Street. Lovely owner who spent time with us using Google. Very small room with basic bathroom but comfortable enough.

Excellent location. The bus stop is literally across the street. Very close to the old street. No English is spoken, but the lady in charge is adorable, and know how to sort out foreigners. I really liked the no fuss booking, just book, turn up and pay, no texting back and forth required. Everything was much better than expected. Nice clean, cozy, comfortable and spacious room with a desk and excellent lighting. Nice clean attached bathroom. Hot water takes a long time to come, but it IS coming. Everything was supplied, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, towels. They had a hot and cold water dispenser. Right outside the room was a big outdoor terrace with tables, chairs. and a fantastic view. And YIPPI, the room had this fantastic new type dehumidifier which has a fan heather built into it. The room does not get damp. One day both me and all the content in my daypack got completely 100% drenched after hiking during a seriously long downpour on a long hiking trail with no shelters, and everything dried up overnight, while I was warm in the room. WiFi is good most of the time.

I had planned to stay two days and hike around Fenqihu .. what I didn’t realize was this is a homestead . There was a small community of 4-5 really nice older people living there that cooked and made me feel so at home . I got so much more than I planned for in the best way . One of the women showed me the coolest hiking trails in the mountains near Fenqihu that I never would have found through a google search . Absolutely amazing . I came from America to go deep into the center of Taiwan . I thought it would be an experience where I was on my own , but there was so much shared with me at this hostel . A real cultural exchange , and friendships I’ll remember forever .

We really enjoyed being able to walk the street and have beautiful views. The hosts are also very kind and took time to teach us about tea. The food was also delicious.

The family was friendly, informative, and helpful. They told us about their tea and coffee process and generally looked out for us to make sure we were taken care of - we didn’t expect that of them and it was very nice!

There are the 360 view of tea planatation around, lots of secret trail which you can explore around the hotel It's always have just a couple group of people then the tea planatation view is your, without crowd like Alishan sunrise view. Homemade food here made from vegetable at the garden and dinner is really worth to try once! Host is really helpful.
