A very beautiful house with gorgeous views on the sea and access to a cute beach. Excellent vibes too! It was amazing waking up to the sound of birds and waves. Lovely hosts! They offer a small delicious breakfast and some precooked meals if you don't feel like cooking.

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had! I stay in about 50 hotels a year and this property exceeded all my expectations. The project entails more than the hotel on the island and you check in at the Teshima Factory, where I had breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food and hospitality were amazing. it's a 10 minute walk from the factory to the hotel and the rooms are brand new. It's very well done. They also have their own farm. Ilze showed me around the island and gave me the best insider information and tips. She is amazing and I had one of the best days in Japan because of her. Despite the rain!

Kinji and Akiko were very communicative from the beginning giving us detailed instructions to find the location, check in was smooth and easy. They reached out in advance to help us book restaurants. We Absolutely loved the restaurants they’ve recommended. The house itself is beautiful and clean, very comfortable for our family of four. The books corner had a great selection of books and games for our kids too. The design details in this house was a delight for a design lover like me. Another bonus was the hosts recommending a local event to us. The sea fireflies event at the beach was so amazing and fun. Would love to stay here again.

We had a truly memorable stay at Shimayado Shiori during our three-generation family trip to Shodoshima last month. From the moment we arrived, the host couple welcomed us warmly and shared the story of the house, while also kindly helping us with suggestions for exploring the island. We had mentioned in advance that we would be travelling with our 16-month-old baby, and the hosts thoughtfully prepared several bedding options for the baby before our arrival. This level of care meant a lot to our family and made us feel immediately at home. We booked dinner one evening and breakfast the following morning, and both were wonderful. The host personally prepared dinner in the kitchen. It was generous, comforting, and beautifully made. Enjoying freshly prepared local dishes in such a relaxed and home-like atmosphere was a special experience for all of us. The house itself is very well maintained, with new and comfortable facilities. We were also delighted to discover several pieces of George Nakashima furniture inside the house, which added a unique and thoughtful touch to the stay. It was a place filled with warmth and care, and we would love to return someday.
