Satoe-san was very warm and welcoming. She made us breakfast upon request (need to order 3 days before the stay). Food is delicious, especially the firm Gokayama tofu and original dip she made! The location is perfect if you are coming from Shirakawago like us. It is in Gokayama which is also a heritage site. They have gassho houses that are equally beautiful and not as crowded as Shirakawago. We felt at home at Guest House Yamashita-ya. Hope we get a chance to stay again!

Daibutsu Ryokan features a public bath and air-conditioned accommodations in Takaoka, 30 miles from Kanazawa Castle. Both free Wifi and parking on-site are accessible at the ryokan free of charge.
