Vlore has an advantageous location: south of it, 30 min...
Vlore has an advantageous location: south of it, 30 min driving, pebbles beaches with clean water, from Vlore towards north sandy beaches well suitable for kids.
Close to Appolonia and other points of interest.
And the mountains ... you have to see it to believe it.
Restaurants - waiters ... will get better over time, I am sure.

Better than expected from the research we had done which depicted it as a souless place. We picked it for its location, but it was also a lively and attractive new City with restaurants, public art, modern architecture and a happy vibe.

Good beaches, local stores and local people.
Good beaches, local stores and local people. Not like Ksamil or Sarande; these places gettting attaction by tourist; however, they are very peak and not easy to access everything. However, Vlorë is a city to go and visit with your family, less peak than Ksamil and has LONG SANDY BEACHES!!! That was one of my main concerns: to have a sandy and clean beach, but Vlorë has it. You can easily access the beach and markets.

We only visited the city of Vlorë at the beginning of our stay, when we went to the local Jumbo store to buy a few things for the beach, as we were planning to explore some of the hidden beaches in the area. Vlorë is a fairly large city with an extremely long seafront promenade. The shared socialist past, with its taste for monumental buildings, is still clearly visible. At night, however, the promenade is beautifully illuminated and remains lively until the early morning. We visited Anchor Restaurant on the promenade and were very satisfied. Following a recommendation, we tried the local speciality Speca me Gjizë, followed by a large platter of seafood and fish, all perfectly prepared. The staff were naturally friendly and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. We then continued further south, away from the city. We would definitely recommend this part of Albania to anyone who is looking for more than just a hotel stay by the sea and also wants to discover the country’s nature and historical heritage.
We found the bunkers scattered everywhere absolutely fascinating, including one directly on the beach in Vlorë. There are also boat trips to the caves and bays around Sazan Island and the Karaburun Peninsula. Llogara National Park is only about half an hour away, and the surrounding area is full of small villages, markets, farms and local restaurants serving excellently prepared seafood.
In our opinion, this region offers everything, from comfortable hotel stays to genuine travel experiences.
