I was offered a room on the base floor and it was great as there was no need for elevators or stairs. The room was quiet and everything worked well: air conditioning, hot shower and comfortable bed. The hotel also has an agreement with the taxi company so it's fairly cheap to go to and from the airport. From the airport it's free and to the airport it's less than 20 BRL.

Breakfast was very good. It is a stones throw from a supermarket. On the same block there is a good restaurant and a block further a good bakery. It is near the airport. In 20 minutes I could walk to the new convention center, but at night I used uber, to be on the safe side. It is a 20 minute walk from the ocean front.

Nice big house close to the airport. The location is good if you want to be close to the airport. It's also walking distance from the beach but at night it can feel a bit scary because there's no one on the street. The hosts are very nice.

I liked the huge coastline to walk around and the lively historic centres of Recife and Olinda. I didn't take any tours but I think they would have been a nice addition and also I could have stayed more time in Olinda.

Olinda is an old city and not well kept.

I honestly did not like it even though it shows a lot of history.
The city needs a major make over; it is not cared for as much as it should.
The sidewalks are broken and one has to be very careful to avoid falling.
The graffiti took over the city like a plague.
it was an eyesore!
I will never return to Olinda; it was a major disappointment.

The esplanade, the old town, the random fiestas, the kiosks...
The esplanade, the old town, the random fiestas, the kiosks were all fab. Unfortunately one or two streets back it starts getting a bit lairy and festering. There are canal works going off as well which makes the whole area pen a bit.

Olinda is one of the few remaining colonial cities in Brazil...
Olinda is one of the few remaining colonial cities in Brazil, rich in history and full of charm. Its steep cobbled streets are lined with colorful houses, lively squares, and countless old churches. Locals like to say there’s one for every day of the year. The city also pulses with the rhythm of frevo, a powerful and exuberant music that fills the air with energy and joy. And after exploring, there are plenty of inviting places to sit down and enjoy the local food and atmosphere.

If you are going for shopping or to walk on the beach than...
If you are going for shopping or to walk on the beach than you are in the right place. It has 2 big shopping moles and it has a nice place called Boa Viagem where I recommend you to go for some physical activity and even for a walk during the day.
People are extremely friendly, but of course there is a lot of people bagging on the streets, the rich are too rich and the poor are extremely poor.
I recommend you to go to the Capitão Gancho Pizzaria and Entre amigos o bode, both very nice places. The first one extremely local and the other one depends on which part of the restaurant you choose.
Always take an uber specially if you don't speak the language.
There are beaches "near by" 1h where you can swim with uber costing €21 or dollars one-way. Like for instance Porto de Galinhas Beach and city.

Olinda is odd in that it is lightly populated.

For instance, there are a phenomenal number of churches in a very small area but (I imagine) way less people than there were historically,
The beach is close by and nice.
It is a stark contrast to Recife so close by.
The minor basilica is worth a visit with it’s gold or nation.
