The property is still under renavation. We got three rooms and one of them is just completed. The newly completed room is very good. All the rooms have everything we need when you rest a night in the road trip.

The Cube is a stylish and comfortable studio apartment which made my stay in Cowichan Bay enjoyable and memorable. Check-in was very easy and as my arrival time shifted back, the owners were very flexible and friendly about being there when I arrived in the early evening. There are numerous nice design touches in the space, high ceilings, a stylish kitchen, and a comfortable bed. My relatives who I was in Cowichan to see did not see as much of me in the mornings as they expected since I was reluctant to leave.

It was a nice stay for what it was. The staff were great, and the room was clean. The building itself is a little older and run down, but it was clean and had everything we needed.

The property offers a superb view from the balcony and outside. We loved the jacuzzi under the stars! Irina provided everything to make us feel cozy - gowns, towels and slippers, and filled the fridge with some breakfast items, even though we didn't expect any. The whole experience - calm and serene - was amazing.

Just plain excellent.

Just plain excellent. Large room, nice kitchen, included separate dinning table. Very comfortable beds including the flip out sofa bed. Good underground parking. Well maintained property. Didn't use the pool but it looked very inviting. Only little recommendation is that the weight machines in the exercise room could use updating.

Salt Spring Island is close to the major cities of Vancouver...

Salt Spring Island is close to the major cities of Vancouver and Victoria but is a world away. It has a rural feel with fields, winding roads with switchbacks, narrow forest driveways and art studios tucked away in the woods. There are many places to access the water to get sweeping views of the many surrounding islands and mountains, such as Ruckle Park. And don't miss the spectacular view from Mt Maxwell. It also has a small town, Ganges, that has several stores selling art, trinkets, locally produced goods as well as a sizable supermarket. It's highly recommended for a short break or longer if you want to get away from the rat race.

Highway traffic annoying.

Highway traffic annoying. Restaurants we tried were just average (exception was "Brunch on 3rd" very good) Some interesting things in downtown section but otherwise nothing exceptional. Cowichan bay was a disappointment

I didn't have a chance to explore much due to tight schedule and my short stay but the Saturday market was one of the highlights. The town was a short lovely walk from our accommodation, breakfast at the charming Tree House Cafe delicious and the walk thru boutiques and gift shops on the way back to our guest house enticing. Welcoming and friendly community nestled in beautiful nature.

It was a rainy cold day with low overhead clouds. The sea was gray. The streets were wet. The air was chilly in the morning. We walked along the water to the bakery. It was open early for coffee and a treat sitting there in the outdoor patio we watch locals come and goas they got ready for their Saturday morning. Would probably like to go back when the weather is better.

There were many restaurants & shops in the town a short drive from the retreat, we drove all around the island & the scenery is really beautiful. The island is not busy & the ferry ride over was on time and very convenient.

On a golfing vacation. Lovely place. Duncan Meadows golf course was good. Great people and nice play. Dinner at Mr Mike's and fabulous steak with lobster bearnaise cooked perfectly with great servers. Beautiful weather and got lots of overhead eagles while golfing.

Salt Spring has lots of nice natural beauty.

Salt Spring has lots of nice natural beauty. This was my first time here (though overdue-- I've been living on Vancouver Island for about 7 yrs). So, though I'm not quite considered a local, I feel like there is a lot that I am familiar with in terms of PNW island life. This was an overnighter but next time, I'd like to stay a few days so I can freedive/snorkel and paddleboard a few spots. As a naturalized islander who spends almost every weekend doing outdoor stuff, I think the summer weekend ferry traffic on SS (and other Gulf Islands) would probably drive me crazy, so I'll probably aim for return trips in the 'off-season', whenever possible.

It is a small community but the shops and restaurants around the bay are very good. There is an excellent yoga studio in Duncan, about 10 minutes away. It is called the Vancouver Island Yoga School and I went every day during my stay. There is a wonderful cafe called the Garage right next to it that serves lots of gluten free options. Super affordable and delicious.

Duncan is best experienced outside of town for trails lakes and nature in general. Try an AirBnb. There are a few within 20 minutes or so from town in beautiful settings. To Eat, go to Romeo's. I had one of the award winning pizzas, and it didn't disappoint
