I ❤️ Mr. Willis Rankin the 1st. He is so funny, nice and knows so much about Tortuguero. The bed was so comfortable and it was even a bit chilly at night with the fan on.

It was among our favorite stays in the entire 2 week-vacation! It is simple but you have everything that you need. The tours offered by Edoardo were perfect and it was just the two of us and we managed to spot lots of animals. Would return and recommend to anyone.

The hostess Anna Rita was very helpful and went above and beyond in assisting us when a family member got sick. She took exceptional care of all of us ? assisting us with everything we needed. Their guide Owen was very helpful too, assisting us with our medical needs and taking care of us by talking to the doctor and even bringing us medication. He was very knowledgeable and did a phenomenal job showing us the local wildlife during our tour. Ana Rita and Owen were truly amazing and we appreciate all they did to make our stay very enjoyable and comfortable.

Tranquil location with lots of wildlife on the property. We fell asleep to crickets and frogs and woke up to howler monkeys. The staff was wonderful, the buffet was above average, and the bed pillows were actually supportive, not those feather pillows that collapse into nothing when you lay down.

Great hotel right on the beach and a five minute easy walk to Tortuguero town and lots of restaurants. There were two large covered outdoor areas with seating and tables and chairs with views of both the ocean and canal. The room was clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed and a lovely tiled bathroom and shower. A safety deposit box and small fridge were also provided. There was a small outdoor shower which was perfect for washing the sand off your feet before going into the room.
The owners, Carmen and Angelo, were very easy to contact and answered all of our questions. They organised a boat tour and a walking tour for us with a local guide, Brandon. These were excellent and really good value for the money. We loved our stay here!

Super clean. Lively location. But best of all was the owner. Marina was the most helpful kind and lovely lady. She couldn’t go out of her way enough for us. Highly recommend!

Location was one of the best locations in the town of Turtugeuro. Being beach front plus a 2 min walk to the main town was great! Breakfast served fresh eggs to order and other great food. The staff was very helpful at all hours.

This property really enriched our stay in Tortuguero. The staff are so warm and welcoming, and work very hard to make sure the guests are taken care of. They cleaned and tidied our room several times a day, and provided a delicious breakfast and dinner every day. There are 6 rooms in the property so it is a small and cozy accommodation. We loved the covered terrace outside with a big table for eating and playing cards and the rocking chairs and hammocks for relaxing. We could enjoy our time outside even when it rained so hard.
We also appreciated all the extras: cold drinking water in the fridge, tea and coffee in the kitchen, the ability to borrow rain ponchos and rubber boots for our night walk and the Jaguar trail (absolutely necessary!). The tours offered by the hotel are also really good. We did the night walk and the hill tour, both really interested and well led by Johnny.

Location on the water was great. Owner was very accommodating, warm and friendly. The bar was perfect for watching the sunset. Room was nothing fancy, but clean and comfy with hot shower and fridgette. Located at the quiet end of town with an easy walk to whatever was needed.

Everything went smoothly, the room was really nice and the facilities too. We even spotted spider monkeys closed to the swimming pool. How do not talk about the host who is an amazing guy, our best encounter in Costa Rica !

Kayaking on the river is a must - you are transported to a different part of the river where it is completely calm and then you climb into the kayaks there. We saw caimans, monkeys etc but just being in the kayak going down the river is senstational.
Turtle nesting tour wasn't as expected - very overcrowded, still glad to have seen it.
Early morning Boat tour on the river also good.
The town of Tortuguero is mostly tourist souvenir shops and a couple of restaurants, I preferred our resort.

Tortuguero has a unique and spectacular ecosystem, but unfortunately the town is dirty, and neglect is apparent in all sides. for a destination that attracts so many tourists, Costa Rica tourism office could have done so much better.
Being a Costa Rican I find it disappointing.

We found the town very touristy, which is not what we were looking for. We went with the expectation of hanging out on the beach and swimming in the Caribbean Sea, however the sea was very rough and we were told that even the locals do not swim in the sea. We could not swim in the river either as there were crocodiles.
Be sure to bring solid walking shoes as this is a place for hiking, not conducive to the mobility impaired.
