Do yourself a favor and pick this place for your Costa Rica trip!!! I don’t even know where to begin.. the people, the atmosphere, the nature, the place! Everything was absolutely gorgeous and the owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The location is ideal, being so close to the center of Quepos, but far away enough to be able to enjoy the local fauna. First day that we arrived, we saw a little monkey playing around in their trees and as we left, a tucan flew right close to the house. Cannot recommend this place enough!! Already planning on coming back! Thank you ❤️

The staff and owners were all helpful, friendly people. The kitchen was very clean and well equipped. The cat was very special. Birdwatching from the upper deck overlooking the back jungle clearing was very rewarding with comfy hammocks and chairs. The pool is amazing with waterfall and colored lights. The perfect cool down.

We really liked Quepos.

We really liked Quepos. We were there for 5 nights and 4 full days at the beginning of our trip. Afterward, we wished we'd reversed our trip and stayed in Quepos for longer. It has a relaxing vibe and the beaches are beautiful. We would have like to go into Manuel Antonio National park a 2nd time because it was one of the nicest parks we visited. There are a lot of activities in the area and the weather was way better than Monteverde or La Fortuna (where we had a lot of rain - in the "dry season").

Manuel Antonio is undeniably beautiful, but be prepared — the national park is extremely crowded, and that crowds saps much of the charm from the experience. It reminded us of watching African wildlife safaris where so many vehicles surround the animals that the moment feels suffocating rather than magical. The same applies here — you are rarely alone with any wildlife sighting, as other park visitors quickly converge from every direction. Our strong recommendation is to hire a guide, either private or in a small group. A good guide makes all the difference in spotting wildlife and understanding what you are seeing. Our guided park tour with Jade Tours was excellent — knowledgeable, professional, and worth every penny. The night mangrove tour, also with Jade Tours, was not exactly off the hook but absolutely worth doing for the unique perspective it offers after dark. The undisputed highlight of our Manuel Antonio experience was a day sail aboard the Brisa Elegante, a stunning wooden tall ship. We were among only three guests, which made it an intimate and extraordinary experience — fantastic crew, breathtaking scenery, and the thrill of spotting blue-footed boobies on the water. The lunch onboard was fantastic and the drinks kept coming. We give it a perfect 10 without hesitation. Do not miss this. Two stops in town are worth noting. Café Milagro Coffee Roasters is a must for any coffee lover — outstanding quality and a wonderful atmosphere. And Faxas House of Cigars is a gem of a find, well worth a visit for cigar enthusiasts and curious travelers alike. Manuel Antonio rewards those who plan carefully. Go early, hire a guide, book the Brisa Elegante, and save room for coffee and cigars.

Quepos is basically a residential town with regular bus service to Manuel Antonio. If you want a holiday location with immediate access to a beach you need to stay in Manuel Antonio. Some lovely hidden beaches and coves to be found in the area but access can be difficult. Be prepared to que for entry into the national park even though you buy your ticket online. Some paths are too narrow for 2 way traffic especially when the guides park up their scopes. Park is extremely crowded and noisy not the tranquil environment I was expecting but in fairness we did see plenty of wildlife. Costa Rica in general is a mountainous country so be prepared to walk up and down steep hills wherever you go.

Flew into San Jose 3 pm, customer took 1 1/2 hrs to get through-shuttled to Hotel and William the Host on What's App helped us the whole trip. Hotel on a hill, lots of stairs and up hill walks to restraints, loved it! Not very hard to get around on Uber to the beach, restraints. Room was perfect, had kitchen w/all the cooking gear, even a rice steamer in the room! Pool was perfect, Jacuzzi is same temp as pool. Will go back again for sure. We love William the host, he went above and beyond. William booked us a Catamaran Excursion and saved us $$ with shuttle pick up also. Le Terrazzo Restaurant opened 6:30 am AMAZING BREAKFAST WITH A VIEW!! Just walk up hill to restaurant 5 min walk. Ordered Dinner takeout ! Manuel Antonio National park was AMAZING, Uber pick us us only $10.00 ride one way for 2 people super cheap. Uber takes you everywhere, $5.00 for 2 people down to beach, yes we could have walked the 1/4 mile, but I'm old and have bad knees lol.

The town of Quepos was a lot most touristy than other towns, particularly close to Manuel Antonio National Park. Parking 'attendants' and street vendors were in our faces trying to sell us anything. Manuel Antonio National Park is worth the trip (and the beach in the park is beautiful), but I'd prefer to not spend too much time in Quepos. We did eat and have drinks at El Avion restaurant, which was really cool with a great view of the sunset.

So many outdoor activities!

So many outdoor activities! My favorites included a guided tour through the park, morning run on the beach, restaurants with amazing views, a relaxing morning Spa day, sunset catamaran cruise where you can snorkel and swim around in the ocean, the list can go on! Really a beautiful part of Costa Rica that I would highly recommend. Very hilly to get around but a 4x4 isn't needed. Overall, a great experience down there!
