Situated within 10 miles (16 kilometres) of Cologne and Bonn city centres, Cologne Bonn Airport can be reached by train in 20 minutes from either city. From Cologne, you can take the S-Bahn train #7 to Porz Markt and then the 161 bus to the airport. If you’re coming from Bonn, hop on the S-Bahn train #60 and ride all the way to the airport.

Small village, one needs a car to get around for food runs...

Small village, one needs a car to get around for food runs as there aren't any major supermarkets or bakeries. Busy main street close by, but windows are sound-proof. All within the Koenigsforst, a large forest, so air quality is good, and there is plenty of hiking around. Public bus transportation is close, and it is very reliable and runs pretty frequently. A few good restaurants for the weekend city slicker invasions.

Our stay in Rösrath was unfortunately affected by a serious issue with our accommodation. The property was not ready upon our arrival, and we had to find alternative accommodation and arrange additional transportation at short notice. This caused significant stress and disrupted our plans, especially as we were travelling with family for a wedding. However, Rösrath itself seemed like a pleasant and quiet place, although we were unable to enjoy it properly due to the problems we experienced with our accommodation.

A beautiful suburb with friendly and hospitable people. On the few occasions that I lost my way or jumped out of the bus way before reaching my destination, passers-by came in handy, and listened patiently to my inquiries about direction. There is no doubt that the neighborhood is professionally planned and marked, with bus stops within distance of each other. I will miss Troisdorf and definitely visit again whenever there will be another opportunity to do so

The hotel is in a historic building on a hill surrounded by a natural park with walking paths and a children’s playground. You can view the sorrounding city from your hotel windows. In the local market are many restaurants and many shops to choose from. If you like space, this is the place to be. Perfect for a personal or group retreat, prayer retreat or just a get-away. The train station is 14 minutes walking slowly. To reach the hotel with luggage is a challenge and it’s better to arrive by car. The building is expansive and you must enjoy making steps!! It is accessible to people with mobility challenges👍🏿 A wonderful place!!!!

Very cute simple town with everything you need.

Very cute simple town with everything you need. Very close to cologne and a direct train that only takes 37minutes into down town. It ran every 30min on the Sunday we were there. Very walkable and friendly. Great views of the river and countryside.

Bergisch Gladbach and its very near neighbour Bensberg are both interesting to visit and with Cologne being only 20 minutes away on the (regular) tram there is plenty to explore and visit for an entire holiday!

There's many options available depending on what you like.

There's many options available depending on what you like. There's museums, there's nightlife, there's beautiful architecture, you can walk or ride the train/subway/bus. Take your time in reading the transport signs, as it can be confusing. Using an app like Citymapper helps in knowing which transport to get next. If you like to take your time in museums or zoos, allocate enough time for the Zoo and the Flora botanical garden, as well as the Ludwig Museum. Both those trips would easily take a whole day. As for food, there are great options that aren't too expensive, even around touristy areas. I'd recommend you walk around a bit and figure out what looks good and is affordable. We went to a few currywurst and döner places. There are some good vegetarian options too, like falafel or frites. One thing I feel is very important and nobody warned me about: in the summer there's wasps everywhere where there's food! They're in bakeries, breweries, kebab places, and on the street. Locals are unfazed by them, so we looked like mad people panicking about them on the first day, but by the end of the trip we were used to them. Be careful when eating outside to not swallow any, and don't anger them either. They just want a piece of your food, and when they get it they'll leave.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing stay! The apartment was spotless, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed, including plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, and drinking water. The location is quiet and perfect for families, with a grocery store, cafés, pizza place, fuel station, and a lovely swimming pool nearby. Steffan was a fantastic host—very kind, responsive, and accommodating. We truly appreciated the late checkout. Highly recommended! We would definitely stay here again.

Ok for a short stop off for a long journey. No evening restaurant so had to order Pizza takeaway. reception have a list of places to eat locally but how to get there is a different matter. Also it is hard to tell how good they are.
