Wrong location written on the announcement and absolutely no info on how to enter the apartment. I had to move 15km far to reach the actual location when I landed on Sunday night at the airport (I explicitly mentioned this in my reservation).
The host luckily started responding me after calling him, then I discovered how to enter with a key hidden under a stone.
Apartment was found not clean on floor and forfeitures.

It an old city with a lot of history.
It an old city with a lot of history. The city center has nice affordable restaurants and a lots of shops. The medieval city walls and gates are still there.
My wife went shopping, and I went to the monuments of WO2, which are still there in a big park.
Public transport is great and affordable. You can get a day ticket for all buses, trams and Metro's/U-bahn in the app, or at the machines in the U-bahn station.

A surprising big-little city outside Nürnberg with a rich history. Architectural highlights from Art Deco. Walkable. Some beautiful churches. US army base has been re-purposed as a sort of yuppy neighborhood.
Major park contains a coffee shop to watch the locals.
Look for the Florentine tower in the city center.

The town is nice, with convenient shopping facilities and the main attraction is the Birkensee- half an hour away by bike. It's one of the most beautiful lakes in Bavaria. Getting around is easy if you have a bike+ S-bahn, which will give you super quick access to the city and lake. After shopping locally for food, I cooked all of my own meals in the appartment. I was there visiting friends and to spend time at the lake, so I didn't do enough to be able to recommend anything. Also a very peaceful place, esp. in the evenings

The Italian restaurant across the street is a no-go!
The Italian restaurant across the street is a no-go! You should not go there because the food is not quite what you expect. The quality is not great. For instance, I ordered a pepperoni pizza and the pepperoni was sliced in half and then divided over the pizza, which looked very cheap. Better restaurants are: Tandoori and the little Greek, just 300 meters north. From where the restaurants are you can easily take the bus and U-bahn to Nurnberg.

We loved this apartment.
We loved this apartment. It was obvious that our host put a lot of TLC into the decor and the amenities. We especially loved the common area where coffee, sofa, beer and wine were available for a nominal fee. Beds were very comfortable. Apartment was spotless. Kitchen was well equipped. Host was friendly and courteous and we felt very welcome. Wish we could have stayed longer.

If you're sensitive to noise, this might be a deal-breaker if you stay near the church. Every day at 7 a.m., the bells ring for 10 minutes straight. Plus, they chime every 15 minutes throughout the day. That's the only one big disadvantage in this town.

We were taken to at least two eating places: One near the train station; The Curry House Restaurant where I had a taste of Pork and another restaurant, southern end of FAU Institute, we had very tasty Pizza.
Getting around Erlangen is quite easy considering affordable buses are all over the place. Next time I would avoid moving around the city by taxi instead of buses

To be completely honest, among all the famous cities in Germany, I never expected Nuremberg to be this beautiful. With its great restaurants serving classic recipes, the lovely greenery, and its stunning historical medieval architecture, it went way beyond our expectations. If we had known it was this gorgeous with so much to see, we definitely would have planned a longer stay. We only came to the city for our flight back and got to explore for just one day, but it absolutely deserves more time. We heard that Germany’s largest Christmas market is held here, so we are definitely keeping it in mind to come back during that season!

Excellent cleanliness and the ability of the host to accommodate my earlier arrival.
What would be helpful to others would be a map of where the particular property was which I managed to view from a very helpful neighbour showing all the properties in this area as I was struggling to find the property in question. I trust you find my suggestion helpful. Tony Crassweller
