Djupavik is one of the more isolated parts of Iceland...
Djupavik is one of the more isolated parts of Iceland accessible by regular car - definitely not overrun with tourists! It is a somewhat challenging drive because of the gravel road which at times is quite rough. But the views along the drive are truly breathtaking and the hotel at your destination is a wonderful historic spot.

a remote place to feel absolutely unplugged for a few day, while enjoy the hike around and the on the fiords views. Very cozy and comfortable at all, as the room are modern and nice, and the kitchen is large and fully equipped.

Exceptional Experience at Hotel Djupavik: A Delightful Stay, Warm Welcome, and Awe-Inspiring Fish Oil Factory Tour!!!
I had the privilege of staying at Hotel Djupavik, and it truly ranks among the most exceptional places I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. The breakfast was delightful, the warm welcome from the staff was even better, and the tour of the nearby fish oil factory was simply awe-inspiring. The atmosphere here makes you feel like a cherished friend rather than a mere guest. Absolutely fantastic!

Hotel Djupavik is about 30 miles off Road 61 (paved) via...
Hotel Djupavik is about 30 miles off Road 61 (paved) via Road 643 (unpaved) in the Westfjords. We had a four wheel drive (recommended) and found the relatively short trip to be an adventure. The road is potholed, twisty, high above the sea with no guardrails. At the highest point there is a spectacular waterfall and a breathtaking view of the fjord below. The hotel is quirky in a Wes Anderson, whimsical way. Rustic, cozy rooms, another stunning waterfall a short distance away. The owners/hosts are accommodating and friendly. The restaurant is very good. An overall comfortable, memorable, amazing experience.
