Very nice town.

Very nice town. Was the starting and stopping point for multiple day bicycle tour of Westfjords. People were great especially Tyler Wacker of Cycling Westfjords who provided advice and support for our tour.

I would have liked to spend more time in Súðavík.

I would have liked to spend more time in Súðavík. I had just read Satu Rämö's crime novel "Hildur" where action took place in Súðavík. It's the great book! I recomment to read it and then explore the places described in te book. We had no time to do it unfortunately for different reasons. By the way, Súðavík apartment is a very nice place to stay!

It's beautiful, but the dining options are very limited.

It's beautiful, but the dining options are very limited. There's no grocery store. There's a cafe (coffee, tea, pastries) that closes at 6. The only option for dinner, the Vagniin, was ok for a couple of days, but my partner said no more after that. This meant driving to Isafjordur for Bonus/Netto or restaurants--nice town but requires traveling there and back through the somewhat harrowing tunnel (google it), so no glass of wine at dinner. Seriously, educate yourself about the tunnel before traveling in this immediate area.

It's a small fishing village on the edge of the fjord.

It's a small fishing village on the edge of the fjord. Travelling through the tunnel to get there was an experience. The town is beautiful and the rich and vibrant fishing industry is interesting.

The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region.

The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.

Flateyri is a very small village, right on the coast.

Flateyri is a very small village, right on the coast. Do not expect many facilities. There is a petrol station with auto pay, and a very small shop, but that's about it. Very quiet. It is very convenient to places like Isafjordur and Dynjandi.

This town is wonderful and quaint.

This town is wonderful and quaint. The setting is stunning, with mountains surrounding the entire town. The people there are very friendly, and it is easy to walk around. The streets have beautiful flower plantings, and there is a fun nughtclub where you can meet local townspeople. We highly recommend it!

The guest house is brand new.

The guest house is brand new. There is very little maintenance and no hospitality to speak of. It is as though you are offered a room (clean, good sized) and a kitchen (well stocked), but once you are there, you are on your own. Very little cleaning done in the shared spaces, none at all in the room. No wifi available in the room. Too bad. The guest house really needs some TLC.
