Great location for Amakusa. Great breakfast. Kind staff. Small of course but this is Japan. A lot of unusual art and art books in the lobby. I also like the Kushikatsu Ichiban about 4 blocks down the street (I doubt they speak any English). I eat there every night I stay in Amakusa. Tell them Thomas sent you.

We enjoyed our overnight stay here In Amakusa. The view out the window overlooked the Hondo River and the Hondo Seto Pedestrian Bridge was within walking distance. Had a delicious dinner experience at a nearby Joyfull restaurant.

Amakusa is an amazing place with amazingly friendly locals.
Amakusa is an amazing place with amazingly friendly locals. Never crowded with tourists, peaceful, and relaxing. Lots to do and see as this island has beautiful mountains and beaches. The dolphin watch is an experience like no other dolphin encounter. The drive through the mountain roads offers spectacular views of peeks covered in lush forests. Amakusa is a must for anyone visiting Japan!
