The couple, Mike and his wife is simply wonderful. Often quick with my email query before I embark on the trip. We are a group of 6 elderly from Singapore on a self-drive holiday. Booked this unit due to good reviews and indeed those were true and we experienced the good things reported, well kept unit, comfortable bed, simple tasty beard and eggs breakfast. While preparing to check out the next day in the rainy weather, Mike was there to pack all our luggage to the trunk. Where on earth to experience 5 stars treatment without paying 5 stars price. Thank you, Mike. We eagerly looked forward to another night of wonderful experience.

Location and Transport
Chubu Airport (which is also known as ‘Chubu Centrair International Airport’) is set on an island connected by a bridge, just over 3 miles (5 kilometres) from Tokoname. Nagoya is 22 miles (35 kilometres) to the north of the airport, and Meitetsu Railways runs high-speed trains between the city and the airport. Passing through Tokoname, the route takes around 30 minutes, running from around 05:00 until 23:00. A taxi to Nagoya will take about an hour and cost about JPY 14,200.

If you’re looking for a place to stay between connections, there are a couple of hotels within a minute’s walk of the airport. Other options can be found in nearby Tokoname. In the airport itself, there’s free WiFi, shops, changing rooms and restaurants dishing up local cuisine. Chubu Airport is renowned for its facilities, and if you have extra time after checking in, you can soak in a bath house that looks onto Ise Bay. There’s also a 300-metre-long observation deck located just 50 metres from the runway, offering a great spot to see the sun set over the bay.

Many sightseeing attractions, like pottery walking path. Aeon shopping mall has shopping, restaurants, food court. Outside the mall were go-cart rides and kids activities center. Other attractions were boat racing and Costco Wholesale store next to Aeon mall. Some bus rides were free. Tokoname is also close to the International Airport.

Tokoname is a (natural or artificial?) island just long enough for the runway of Chubu Intl. Airport, ans wide enough a few airport hotels and some office buildings, workshops and storage buildings connected to the airport. There is a good railway connection to Nagoya. Tokoname is definitely *not* a tourist destination, but if you arrive late at night and are very tired after a long-haul flight, or if your plane leaves very early in the morning, it is extremely convenient to stay in one of the hotels, which offer good value for the price.

We had a fantastic stay. The apartment is spotless, very comfortable, and well-equipped with every amenity you could want. Our host, Tatsu, was incredibly welcoming, kind, and responsive to all our requests. We couldn't recommend this place more highly!

Suzuka is a little bit off the normal tourist route. It's nice to walk around neighborhoods and rice fields, have a night at the Aeon mall shopping, and enjoy a city amongst real Japanese families. Transportation around the city is easy to navigate with bus and trains.

The house is nice, just a little hard to find, because there are two big cars in front of the house, making me confused about it when I find it. The landlady provides a lot of snacks and drinks, all for free, which is great for the kids. All you need is in the house.

The room was basic but clean and comfortable with good shower, all that we needed for a good night sleep. There were free coffee and tea provided at the reception area as in other hotels. Only a 5 minutes walk from the hotel to the Terminal 1 departure hall was incredible, can't think of a better option than staying here. Breakfast starts at 6am which is earlier than the few hotels we have stayed during the trip.

One of Japan's six ancient kiln towns. If you are into ceramics it's a brilliant place to visit. If you're not, it's a lovely, relaxed town with nice walks and good places to eat. Very close to Nagoya airport. There is a free shuttle bus into Tokoname or use the station. Home of the lucky waving cat - Maneki Neko!
