Max, the Concierge, was amazingly helpful. He went well beyond ordering taxis and answering questions. His help has lead to a successful trip back to Korea. The hotel rooms, the breakfast, and the artwork was wonderful.

This was shockingly nice for the price we paid for it?? Like it had fancy vibes and a lot of businessmen in the lobby. The front desk staff were lovely, and they take your car and park it via a car lift? Fascinating stuff. Anyway, the room was really nice and had a great bathroom and view.

This hotel is the absolute best. Very comfortable in every aspect. There is warm water, bidet, AC control, sanitizer, robes and even hair brushes. We loved the coffee, breakfast and the location is perfect to explore Damyang. Not only do they provide everything you need but the hotel is very clean. The staff is incredible - helpful and kind. Very grateful for their patience and understanding. were provided help any time we needed. Best hotel in Korea. Will come back when we visit Korea again.

Gwangju is the 6th largest city in Korea.
Gwangju is the 6th largest city in Korea. There’s plenty to do and see, but is definitely at least a weekend trip. However, there is something for everybody — whether you’re into hiking, history, shopping, or eating. Gwangju is also pretty spread out depending on what you want to do/see so plan accordingly and make note of where things are!
Make sure to go to a Kia Tigers Baseball Game when you’re there!

I stayed in Gwangju for a week primarily to do an event with the world famous Koran Randonneur Cycling Club. A 600k Gwangju-Busan-Gwangju. The ride started near City Hotel which is also located near the bike paths along the river. While in Gwangju I visited the very excellent Gwangju Museum of Art and the Cemetery. Gwangju seems like a very livable city with (at least) two universities and a vibrant industrial, commercial sector.

Gwangju publicises itself as an arts and culture centre.
Gwangju publicises itself as an arts and culture centre. It has a fantastic national museum and an interesting modern art museum. A Famous K-pop star BTS J Hope) comes from there and there is a cool area with cool shops and restaurants.
I would have stayed a couple more days to see some more things but my accommodation wasn't to my liking and I moved on.
