Amazing! Bravo to the owners and staff, what a wonderful experience my mother, my aunt, and uncle had. The food was exceptional, and the service was amazing. The views of Castlereigh lake and tea on the veranda were all part of fulfilling my Sri Lankan dreams.

A bit of a tricky arrival along a narrow bumpy road, especially at night, but well worth it. What a surprise. This place is amazing. The architecture, the views, the manicured grounds, the food, the staff and service. Was fabulous.

Stayed here after stage 7 of the Pekoe trail. About a mile off trail but worth it, such kind owners, a beautiful room with a lovely view of the lake. They offered to wash my clothes, made a delicious dinner and breakfast, and gave me juice upon my arrival. Couldn’t have been better!

The family was super nice and even organized a sunrise trip to Adam's peak for us. We also had breakfast and dinner there, which was really delicious! And the room was very cozy with a nice view from the balcony.

Hatton is ideal place to stay if you want cover areas like Maskeliya, Laxapana and Adams peak where you can see beautiful waterfalls. The scenery is amazing and it not far from even driving to Nuwara eliya.

Nestled deep in the heart of Sri Lanka’s central highlands,...

Nestled deep in the heart of Sri Lanka’s central highlands, Maskeliya is a place that feels like it was painted by nature itself. From the moment you begin your journey toward this hill country gem, the landscape begins to shift—lush greenery unfolds across rolling hills, mist dances over tea plantations, and the air grows cooler, fresher, more alive. Maskeliya isn’t just beautiful—it’s breathtaking. The views are beyond imagination. Wherever you turn, there’s something to marvel at: towering peaks wrapped in clouds, shimmering lakes nestled between valleys, and winding roads that seem to disappear into the horizon. It’s the kind of scenery that makes you pause, take a deep breath, and feel grateful just to witness it. And then there’s the weather. Perfect doesn’t even begin to describe it. The mornings are crisp and golden, with sunlight gently warming the hills. By midday, the breeze picks up, carrying the scent of wildflowers and fresh earth. Evenings are cool and serene, ideal for sipping a hot cup of Ceylon tea while watching the sky turn shades of lavender and rose. Whether you’re hiking toward Adam’s Peak, exploring the quiet charm of local villages, or simply sitting by a window and soaking in the view, Maskeliya offers something rare: a sense of peace, wonder, and connection to the natural world. It’s not just a destination—it’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left.

Excellent location for thr Pekoe Trail, good rooms and delicious food. I understand there will be facilities for guides accompanying parties. The hotel is on several levels so not suitable for people with disabilities.

There is absolutely nothing there to do except climbing the peak. No shops, just stalls that sells sweets etc. One night stay is enough. Make 100% sure you are fit enough to climb the peak. It is worthwhile, but start climbing before 03h00 to see the sunrise. Spectacular views. And avoid weekends and poja days.

A Little piece of Paradise!!! ❤️

A Little piece of Paradise!!! ❤️ Our stay at Hummingbird St. Claire Villas was absolutely wonderful. The surroundings are incredibly beautiful, we honestly felt like we were staying in paradise! The villa was spotlessly clean, peaceful, and offered an amazing level of privacy. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Thank you so much Neshan, Metricko and Thulakshan !!! We could have enjoyed our meals inside the villa, but we chose to dine at the restaurant because we simply couldn’t get enough of the breathtaking surroundings and views. The food was fantastic too! We highly recommend trying the sandwiches, soups, and desserts from the menu — they are absolutely delicious. And the Chicken Biriyani was on another level! We had such a relaxing and memorable stay, and we are already planning to come back for our December holiday. Definitely a place we would love to visit again! ❤️

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!
