I booked Eagle Town purely because of the free airport pickup and the 30 km distance, and it turned out to be a little gem.Picked up at 1:15 a.m. after a delayed flight – driver was patiently waiting with my name on a sign, helped with my suitcase, and got me to the property in 26 minutes. it nice and convenient .

My stay at Khubilai hotel was so exceptional.
I had a long 13 layover in Ulaanbaatar, andI just wanted somewhere to take a hot shower and take some rest. The thing is that Chinngis Khan airport is far from downtown, and many Mongolian friends told me I might not make it on time I booked a hotel in the city center, so I chose this one.
The location is perfect, just 30 minutes by car from the airport.
The double bed room was MAJESTIC! with a very high ceiling. For that price, sometimes I wouldn’t get a capsule room in Tokyo.
The cleanliness was beyond explanation. Everything was shining.
Also I should mention that the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Eventually I did spent the night in Ulaanbaatar and just came back to take a shower and sleep for 1 hour and half. However, I would definitely use this hotel if I visited Mongolia in the future, and highly recommend it to everyone visiting Ulaanbaatar.

The property was very clean, modern, and comfortable. The apartment was well equipped with everything I needed, and the interior design was cozy. The location was convenient and quiet, making it easy to relax after a long day. Communication with the host was smooth and everything was well organized.

We arrived on a bus at the Nomin bus station and walked to the hotel. The next morning we walked to the Dragon bus station for our bus. Very convenient location to both bus stations. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We left before breakfast and Roy provided us with some treats to eat on the bus.

The city itself isn't incredible. The traffic is terrible. The best of Mongolia is outside the big city, like the desert of Gobi, which is quite exceptionnal. You should expect and agree to spend quite some time in a vehicle, the country is so big that if you want to see diffrent things you need a lot of traveling on gravel roads, this was totally part of our adventure...

Ulaanbaatar is a beautiful city, its culture and atmosphere are exceptional. It's better to travel in summer during national holidays. Lots of things to do and great restaurants, malls, and so on.

I had booked a 3-day tour to the semi-Gobi and it was packed with things to do. The 4-day+ trip would probably be a bit better. I'd recommend taking a neck pillow (airplane type) for the LONG drives that await. You can visit most things in the city in a day or so, everything else you'll need transportation to (whichever you decide) and likely day trips. The people are SUPER nice there and I'd stay longer next time.
