There are two parts to my review, the host Karim and his apartment. Karim is the most responsive and helpful host I have ever stayed with. I would often get responses back in minutes. I changed my arrival time at the last minute from 6 pm to 11:30 pm and his immediate response was “no problem.” I asked him for the address and directions to his apartment and it was still not possible to know which door was his. I found him outside at 11:30 pm waving to hail us. Karim helped us carry our bags up three flights of stairs and helped carry them down the next morning.
Part 2 is the space. There is a large 6 foot - I think - deep soaking pool that would easily hold 10 people. The water isn’t heated but would be refreshing in summer. The open air balcony is refreshing and the view provides a perspective of sky and near by roof tops and balconies. The proper beds are very comfortable and the two sofas are best for people under 150 cm.
Inside is simple and practical but it is Karim’s kindness that makes a guest feel like they cannot ask for too much.

A jewel in the center of a high-end neighborhood. For the price and location wise it was well worthy. The comfortable bed, hot shower, breeze from the balcony, you tube channels, washing machine etc etc. Sleek minimalist decor. Happy and enjoyed our stay in this studio. Very cozy feeling. Host was very helpful and accommodating. Thank you appreciate your kindness. Known restaurants are nearby, airport is only 8min away by taxi, shopping is just at the doorstep, convenient stores and banks are few steps away. Quiet and safe location. We had a great stay despite booking on very short notice.
We had a great stay despite booking on very short notice. Mr. Zouari was extremely proactive and even offered to pick us up from the airport.
When we arrived, he was already waiting with welcome drinks and sweets, which was a very nice touch. After a short, pleasant conversation, he kindly let us rest, knowing we were continuing our journey early the next morning.
The next day, he surprised us with an amazing breakfast — truly outstanding hospitality. This stay perfectly reflects the warmth and generosity of Tunisian guest hospitality.
Excellent experience overall. I would definitely book again. Thank you, Mr. Zouari.

The apartment, it's self..finding it at night and getting in was a big issue. It would be much better with a little more thought by the owner to issue the key box code earlier... They wanted cash, so I had to race off to the airport bank (it was a Sinday) in the taxi and get cash to leave for the owner to collect... (we all know why)

Tunis is a beautiful and historic city with many interesting places to visit. We really enjoyed discovering its culture, history, and atmosphere. The local people were very friendly, kind, and welcoming, which made our experience even more enjoyable.
One negative point was our experience with some police officers, especially those at the airport. Unfortunately, both upon arrival and departure, we encountered situations where some officers seemed to take advantage of tourists. This was disappointing and affected our overall experience at the airport.
Overall, Tunis is a charming city with a rich history and wonderful people, and it is definitely worth visiting.

I was met at the airport quite late at night with the plane being more than 2 hours late.
The host couldn’t do enough for me, big breakfast, all my laundry and ras me back to the airport.
I would certainly recommend him.

I like Tunis, only thing is the he garbage how much plastic I found from the beaches.. Sid Bou Said is so beautiful with blue roofs and white houses... Also the Soukh in Tunis city is worth of the visit. Exotic place

Ariana is a lovely area about 20 minutes from Tunis. It was safe. Plenty of stores, restaurants, bars, bakeries, ice cream shops. However, people need to stop throwing trash all over the place. Too many smokers as well. People smoked inside restaurants, offices, everywhere which was a turn-off

If you're looking for adventures and more to see, Tunis...
If you're looking for adventures and more to see, Tunis definitely is not the place. Quite boring really - you have only the Souks in the Medina (which most of it is closed on Sunday). Definitely visit Sidi Bou Said - it is very beautiful place, approx 20 mins from Habib Bourguiba Avenue by car. Definitely bring some cash with you - this is the most common and used method of payment. Also, prices may be a bit confusing at first. Generally, safe for travellers I would say, Relatively cheap for food and drinks. Also, download the app InDrive for booking taxis -it's very nice and useful.
