We'd initially planned a stay in Destin, until that fell through. We were able to find this hotel in Niceville that was the most affordable. We ended up at a cute bar called Bayou Pub, where they had an adorable pub dog. He was well mannered and incredibly sweet. We enjoyed the vibe of the bar and the singer, John McKinney. The beer was reasonably priced and tasty. Although it was pretty warm that night, we scored outside seats right in front of the fan. With our stay being very short lived and obligations in Destin, this was really the only time we got out to explore Niceville. We thought the city was cute and we'd like to visit again.

We booked the stay for 5 days, 4 nights. We felt is was perfect for us, close to the beach, breakfast included, and just close enough to shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed it and would recommend the hotel and destination.

Everything was up to par for the beach but the hotel rooms you guys need to put a little bit more money in the rest of the renovation beds are not sturdy needs new linen or better quality also better quality furnishings in the room and an exterminator cause the roach that crawled on my tv wasn’t cute. I really don’t like having to make reviews like this because I spent my husbands hard earned money. Please do better Wyndham Hotel

A lot of traffic, so guage your travel. Heavy traffic to/from the military base, tourist attractions, and delays near road construction, be prepared.
Many enjoyable, yet reasonably priced, places to eat and enjoy the variety of dishes. Seafood the main menu fare. Attractions near Ft Walton Beach, FL, a short drive away. Awesome beaches in the area, enjoy them.

Niceville holds up to its name ... a nice community. There are several very nice and fairly new hotels but overpriced for the area. Long drive to get to the beaches and a toll bridge for the shortest drive to get there. Very congested if going to beaches through Ft Walton Beach due to new bridge construction going from Ft Walton to beaches on the island or Destin.
Beautiful beach-white soft sand-green water-great water activities available $$$$
Great pool and hot tub
Good food and shopping
Too crowded and far from beach-not a 3 minute walk to beach
Only 2 elevators - long wait times
Condo - shower plumbing loose - terrace is very narrow but awesome view
Too few guest towels and I brought beach towels

The beaches were amazing, they worked hard to keep the beaches clean and neat. There were many activities on the beach such as volleyball and fishing. We also got to see plenty of dolphins and other large fish.

Property is close to Stunning Nevarre Beaches, 30 mins to Pensacola, Destin and Fort Walton is even closer than Nevarre, 10 minute drive. We loved our stay! Beautiful home and neighborhood was very safe, large back yard for dogs too!!! Great time! Lots of Great restaurants in the area!!!

Niceville is a small town on the Choctawhatchee Bay.
Niceville is a small town on the Choctawhatchee Bay. I have family there and have watch it develop over the last 30+ years. There are many places to eat. If you enjoy the outdoors Turkey Creek Park is right there along with many other outdoor experiences. You can drive through town and take the Mid-Bay Bridge to Destin. It drops you off at a large shopping complex and minutes from the Silver Sands Outlet Mall. Beyond that is a short drive to the beach. Staying in Niceville allows you access to the beach without experiencing the overcrowding and heavy traffic everywhere you go.

I prefer Miriamar Beach.
I prefer Miriamar Beach. Too much traffic and parties in Destin. I like quiet beach, walking and private beach with chairs. For a place that sleeps 4 and you pay for that, 4 chairs should be included especially at $40/day extra. The view was amazing. The water is glorious and white sand divine. I would swim all day!
