Termez Palace Hotel & Spa genuinely surprised me, in the best way. I travel often throughout Central Asia as an international educator from America, and this hotel exceeded my expectations from the moment I arrived. The staff were consistently warm, friendly, and professional. A real bonus was that most of them spoke English, which made everything smoother and more comfortable as a foreign traveler, and honestly gave the hotel an edge compared to many others in the region. My room was comfortable, quiet, and had a memorable view: it opened up directly toward the mosque across the street. The location also worked well for basic convenience. There’s a good restaurant that serves local Uzbek food within walking distance, and the breakfast was solid and met my expectations. One person deserves special mention: Sayfiddina. He didn’t just offer good service, he took real initiative to make sure I knew where the main local tourist sites were. Even more impressive, on his day off he ended up being my guide around town. That kind of kindness isn’t “hotel duty.” It’s character. And it made my time in Termez feel welcoming in a way I won’t forget. If you’re visiting Termez and want a comfortable base with genuinely helpful staff, Termez Palace Hotel & Spa is a strong choice.

This was my favourite hotel or guest house during a two-and-a-half week visit to Uzbekistan. The guest house has a spacious, stylish, and comfortable common area where you can relax, as well as a large kitchen for self-catering. The hosts went above and beyond in being kind and helpful. When I feel ill with a bit of food poisoning, Mavjuda took care of me and cooked me boiled rice to help me get back to health. She also arranged transportation for me and let me and other guests leave belongings in a secure room during trips away. They even invited me and other guests to an engagement party, which was a real treat. Very kind and very helpful people in a beautiful home.

I wish I had stayed there for much longer, as this region is an archaeological haven. We visited Kampir Tepe and Fayaz Tepe as well as the Archaeological Museum, which was very informative. Good to spend at least 3-4 full days in this region to see all the excavation sites!

Termez is a quite underestimated city of Uzbekistan.

Termez is a quite underestimated city of Uzbekistan. The city is hot, it is the most south city of Uzbekistan. Thus, you mostly need to rent a car of use taxi than to walk around. The city looks quite tranquil and safe. Nothing cares less than a border with Afghanistan in km.-distance. What is important is that Termez is very old (3,000 of years) and contains a quite complicated history. In the city and in its surrounding area there are plenty attractions. From Neanderthal and Palaeolithic caves and Greco-Bactrian heritage via Buddhist monasteries of Kushanian Empire to Islamic architecture of different styles. Termez also can boast with an interesting archaeology museum. In the region people produce quality dry wines. I tasted the white, called Sultan, it was nice. Also, around Termez there are a lot of natural attractions. I heard of a balneotherapy resort but I hadn't visited it.
