Lots of space. Basic kitchen facilities. Central location near loads of interesting things to see and do. Fast and reliable internet. Large and very comfortable bed.

Great location, clean and modern. Concierge staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking across the street was easy to use.

The hotel was amazing, especially the convenient parking and central location. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. We particularly enjoyed the diverse breakfast options and the stunning rooftop pool. Highly recommend this hotel.

I was blown away by the beauty of this place! A quiet peaceful and stunning retreat in the middle of a really cool community high up from downtown Funchal. They have a poolside cafe great for drinks and snacks. Parking was a great plus too.

The main address I was supposed to stay was unavailable because of unexpected circumstances. However they immediately transferred me to a nearby hotel (Pier House) with a very similar room. Overall the staff was very kind and helpful, and the room was clean.

Absolute gem of a place. Situated about a 20 min walk downhill to sea front and restaurants. Lovely views from terrace over harbour and town. Matheus was a dream host from the start. You could believe you were a guest in his own house. The whole place has been fabulously refurbished to a high standard. Impossible to fault. The main attraction though was breakfast.. Best start to a day ever. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

There was nice people, they help you with all information you need. It’s clean, they are cleaning the room everyday and change towels in need. It’s close to shop, port area, restaurants and many more!

From start to finish everything was perfect. We had their driver pick us up at the airport and he was great. Our flight was delayed and the driver kept excellent communication with us, as well as the apartment. The apartment was great, clean, comfortable and great location. Restaurants and cafes easy walking distance. Communication with the apartment was excellent, any questions asked I received prompt responses. We loved our stay and will be back. I highly recommend this apartment.

Good sized room for 3 adults. Loved taking breakfast and using facilities at the Casino Hotel. Love the location.

We stayed at The Residence hotel, part of the Portobay complex, next to Eden Mar. We were upgraded at check in without being told and it was a nice surprise. The apartment we received was very big, think of a bigger apartment with a “small” hotel room included which had its own bathroom. Everything was very clean and, even though we did not use much of, the kitchenette was equipped with everything necessary for cooking. Beds were comfortable and in good shape even though some of the furniture pieces were showing their age. There were 5 swimming pools available, some indoor (one which allowed for swimming outdoors as well), one of them heated and two were suitable for little children. A gym, indoor and outdoor play areas for kids, as well as a hobby room were all available for free access. A SPA is available, we only went there for a massage that was nice. People are extremely helpful and nice, we really felt really good. On top of everything the included breakfast buffet was very generous, even with sparkling wine available, and one could eat indoors or outdoors on the terrace. We would come back and choose the same hotel without hesitation. Funchal downtown is within walking distance, although maybe this is not an option for everyone a quick taxi ride is also possible. Nevertheless, location is also very good.

The owners were incredibly kind, the location is top notch and it was cleaned daily with fresh towels.

Staff member Carolina was wonderful.! From the check in process to coming to my rescue when I needed help finding an emergency dentist. I would definitely use Lucas Holiday Rental for future rentals, the staff was great.

A gracious gentleman named Ronald who met us when we arrived was super helpful. Apartment was nice and spacious with a large patio. Location was excellent and within walking distance to the city center as well as many restaurants, bars, grocery stores in the immediate vicinity. Would definitely use again.
