The host is AMAZING. He is beyond friendly and helpful. He connected us with his cousin who gave us a great rate for the drive from Guatemala City straight to the property. There’s amazing street vendors for food literally every street you walk down, it’s right by the Mirador, a 5 minute walk to all the best parts of the city and 10 minutes walking to the lake. The view from the roof is beautiful. The property itself was really clean and spacious, and the beds were super comfy. I honestly can’t say enough. We loved our stay here.

Well equipped kitchen with pots, pans and - for the first time during our central america travels - a sharp knife that made cooking a pleasure! Good refrigerator with small freezer. They also provide a big bottle of water, so you don't have to waste money nor plastic. 💯 👌🏻 Cute little terrace with rocking chairs and a view of the mountains. Clean big room with a small table and smart TV with streaming options. Located somewhat outside of San Juan which was a plus for us, as it was really calm. Short walk to the center. My girlfriend, being a language teacher, doesn't usually give out 10/10, but she makes an exception for this place, being everything we wanted at a good price.

We loved everything about our stay! Paula was just so great and was always available and responded quickly to any questions or request. The property is absolutely stunning and exactly as advertised. The cabin was clean, had all needed supplies, hot water, small kitchenette for cooking and the most breathtaking view of the lake. Paddle boards were also available which was an unexpected bonus! Lanchas were very easy to get and passed by multiple times an hour. Very private, quiet and a perfect for a romantic getaway. Bed was 10/10 comfortable and had many extra blanket, towels as needed. Also a guardian on site to assist with any urgent matters. I would recommend Aurora to any friends or family visiting the lake.

It was so great coming here, the host brought me in like family and so great full for my stay. It’s a mansion that was never completed which a local now owns. It felt great supporting g a local while also having a comfortable stay for a change. Definitely more luxury then im used to, but dont expect perfection. All in all highly rated for the value

Perfect location in San Marcos, a quick 10 minute walk to the main streets and right on the water. The song of birds, the gorgeous garden, the rising sun over the volcanoes, wow. Very comfortable room, like a little home away from home.
