This guided walk takes place in Hahndorf and is led by people who live in the village. Your guide is a local resident who loves and promotes this heritage‑listed village, so the commentary is rich in local detail and lived experience. The tour focuses on stories and the village’s cultural background rather than a strict itinerary, and is filled with many local anecdotes and insights.

Along the way you will hear the two stories the guides most enjoy sharing. One honours the Prussian old Lutherans who fled religious persecution and made the long journey to South Australia — often to a place they did not even know existed. The other tells how Prussian pioneering women showed courage and tenacity to help save the colony from starvation. As you move through Hahndorf you may hear these and other neighbourhood stories that bring the village’s past to life, and you will leave Hahndorf with tales to share with family and friends.
