On a two-day, one-night excursion in the Amazon, you will experience rainforest and river landscapes alongside local culture. The programme may include jungle trekking and boat rides that take you through winding channels and past a floating village. Along the way you may visit the phenomenon of the meeting of the rivers and see sunrise and sunset over the water and forest.
You may spot cayman (alligator) while exploring the banks and try piranha fishing or even fishing for the giant pirarucu (arapaima). Visits typically include a lake dotted with water lilies and time with an indigenous tribe, where you can see aspects of traditional life. One night is spent overnight like a native, giving you a close sense of the environment and rhythms of the Amazon. The combination of wildlife viewing, river navigation and cultural encounters gives a broad sense of what this region is like.
