On board the First 22 yacht, you will take part in an introductory keelboat sailing experience designed for beginners. Guided by experienced instructors, you will get hands-on with the essentials of sailing as you head out on open water. Along the way, you will see how the boat responds to wind and learn how sail trim affects speed and balance.
You will be taught safety and preparation procedures and introduced to basic steering and navigation techniques. Instructors will encourage active participation, so you may help raise and lower the sails, take the helm, and practise docking manoeuvres under supervision. The session will focus on practical skills, calm instruction and teamwork, giving you a clear grounding in the fundamentals while you enjoy the companionship of others on board.
