This Taster session takes you on a shorter quad-bike trek around a farm set on the Cotswold Hills. It’s a miniature version of The Thrill package, so you’ll get a condensed feel for off-road riding and the farm surroundings without the full course. Along the way you’ll ride across the farm’s terrain and experience the basics of handling an adult quad in a countryside setting.
The session is suitable for families with teenagers who are over 1.5 metres (5 feet) tall and who are strong enough to manage an adult quad. The operator recommends a minimum age of 15, but strength and fitness matter more than age; some physically active children as young as 11 have handled the big quads. Quad biking is not an effortless ‘theme park’ ride — it’s a motor sport with potential risks and it requires a reasonable level of physical strength from the rider.
On this self-guided audio tour of Tewkesbury you’ll experience GPS playback as you Gallivant with tour producer Owen Bowles through the town’s compact Tudor streets. The walk takes you around a tiny Tudor town that was once home to 101 pubs, giving a real sense of its long, lived-in character.
Along the way you’ll hear how the industrial revolution bypassed Tewkesbury, leaving over 350 listed buildings of special architectural and historical interest, many of them timber-framed Tudor houses. You’ll learn the fate of the Lancastrian lords who claimed sanctuary in the abbey after the Battle of Tewkesbury and how the town connects to the turbulent religious history of England. The tour points out where you can find the largest number of exquisitely decorated medieval tombs outside of London and explains why Tewkesbury Abbey has been described as ‘the Westminster Abbey of the Feudal Baronage.’ You’ll also find out how the town’s mustard balls became nationally famous, adding a local culinary note to the town’s rich history.

In the heart of Herefordshire, The Viking Experience lets you try traditional Viking activities in a hands-on setting. You will take part in axe throwing, learning how to handle and hurl hatchets with technique and focus. Along the way you will also practise archery, working with a bow and arrow to improve your aim and concentration.
As the session continues, you will play a selection of Nordic games such as Kubb, Molkky, Stige and Bullrings. These games emphasise strategy, skill and friendly competition, and bring a playful taste of Viking-style leisure. The experience is suitable for families, friends and team-building groups, offering a mix of challenge, camaraderie and a glimpse into aspects of Viking life.
Axe throwing may be relatively new to the UK, but it is quickly gaining popularity. You’ll find it unexpectedly satisfying — the moment an axe sticks just right in the board is hard to beat. Many people find it addictive once they pick up the correct technique. The overall experience is relaxed and unique, and you may be surprised even if you’ve tried axe throwing before, because outdoor axe throwing is very different to indoor.
With safety measures in place, the activity is 100% safe. You’ll begin with an introduction to axe throwing and the different ways to throw. After a few practice throws you’ll move on to scoring targets made of concentric rings, where each ring scores more than the last and the dead-centre bullseye carries the highest points. Over five rounds you’ll aim to score the most points and beat the opposition, then you’ll take part in a team round. Along the way you’ll get repeats of practice and coaching so you can refine your technique and enjoy the challenge.

An instructor will be with you to guide you through the route and help with any tougher parts of the trail. This guidance will make it easier to manage the more demanding stretches while you focus on the experience of walking around a working farm and across the Cotswold Hills.
Please read your booking confirmation email carefully before your visit. It contains important information about your adventure and will help you get the most out of the experience.
