On this horse ride through the Adirondack woodlands you will pass the original, authentic Adirondack cabins that the family rents out. As you move through the trees you will meander along a variety of trails, ride near peaceful waterways and cross a stream, taking in the changing sights and sounds of each area you pass through.
No experience is needed, so the ride will suit first-time riders as well as more advanced riders. It is designed to be relaxing and enjoyable for all ages. Because this is a family-run operation rather than a factory-style get-on/get-off setting, the hosts will do their best to accommodate you. Along the way you will have the chance to form a lasting bond and fond memories with your horse, guided by people who clearly care for their animals and their work.
In Saratoga, you'll follow a location-aware, smartphone-guided walking tour that brings the town's past to life as you move through it. Along the route you'll encounter four springs, historic homes, elegant casinos, museums and striking fountains. As you pass these sites the audio will play automatically, giving you a hands-free, heads-up experience that lets you look around and learn without stopping to fiddle with your device.
Along the way you'll hear about local characters and moments that shaped Saratoga — including the boxer Old Smoke, who helped put horse racing on the map, and the spring water craze that launched the town. You'll learn how art enthusiasts influenced the area's creative spirit and you'll hear a few local legends and pieces of folklore. If you are brave enough, the tour will point out the devil’s chair and share the stories that surround it. You can go at your own pace, stopping and starting whenever you like, and the tour never expires.
