From the docks at Blue Spring State Park you will join the daily St. Johns River Nature Cruise, a journey long cherished by visitors to Central Florida. As you set sail, a knowledgeable and friendly crew will guide the trip and share information about the river. The cruise immerses you in the rich history and abundant wildlife that grace the St. Johns River. On the Intracoastal Waterway near Daytona Beach, you’ll sail on the area’s only public and private sailing catamaran, taking in coastal scenery and wildlife. You’ll travel aboard a Seawind 1000, an Australian-built catamaran with a variety of seating options to suit your mood. Leaving De Leon Springs State Park, you'll travel west through Spring Garden Creek and enjoy calm, scenic waterway passages. As you move through the creek, you'll take in iconic views of Spring Garden Lake and the low-lying land around Jones Island. Along the way, the panorama will open toward the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge, giving a sense of the area's natural richness. The experience includes guided narration that explains the history and natural resources of the waterway. The commentary will point out notable features and provide context about the local environment as you travel, helping you appreciate both the landscape and its ecological significance.
