On this guided tour through Düsseldorf’s New Center, you’ll experience architecture and nature in a symbiosis. You’ll explore the urban landscape between Königsallee and Hofgarten.
You’ll see two of Düsseldorf’s new landmarks that are important stations – the Kö-Bogen I and II. At the upper end of Königsallee and around Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz, you’ll find the elegantly curved Kö-Bogen I by New Yorker Daniel Libeskind and Düsseldorf’s Christoph Ingenhoven. You’ll also see the climate-fit Ingenhoven Valley (also known as Kö-Bogen II) that was completed in 2021 and features 30,000 hornbeams.
You’ll visit the triangular market hall with a walk-on lawn roof. From here, you can take in views of the historic Hofgarten and two icons of postwar architecture –Schauspielhaus and Dreischeibenhaus. Your guide will give you further unusual perspectives on the old and new city structures.
