On this guided tour through Düsseldorf’s New Centre, you’ll experience architecture and nature in a symbiosis. You’ll explore the urban landscape between Königsallee and Hofgarten.
You’ll see two of Düsseldorf’s new landmarks that are important stations – the Kö-Bogen I and II. At the upper end of Königsallee and around Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz, you’ll find the elegantly curved Kö-Bogen I by New Yorker Daniel Libeskind and Düsseldorf’s Christoph Ingenhoven. You’ll also see the climate-fit Ingenhoven Valley (also known as Kö-Bogen II) that was completed in 2021 and features 30,000 hornbeams.
You’ll visit the triangular market hall with a walk-on lawn roof. From here, you can take in views of the historic Hofgarten and two icons of post-war architecture –Schauspielhaus and Dreischeibenhaus. Your guide will give you further unusual perspectives on the old and new city structures.
