At the Berlin Icebar everything is made of ice — from the walls and furniture to the very glass you’ll sip your drink from, all carved from natural ice. On arrival you’ll receive tokens to use at the venue’s two bars. The first area you enter is a heated front bar where you can exchange a golden token for a large Heineken, a glass of wine, a cocktail or a non‑alcoholic drink. After a welcome drink in the lounge, you’ll be given warm clothing such as a coat and gloves to help you cope with the −10°C inside.
Once you’re dressed for the cold, you’ll move into the actual ice bar at the back. There you can trade your two silver tokens for a Heineken, a shot of strong liquor or orange juice. As you drink from ice glasses, you’ll see ambient lighting and carved ice sculptures around you and can see how long you can comfortably stay in the chilled space. The experience focuses on the unusual surroundings and the contrast between the warm lounge and the frosty ice bar.
