This expedition takes you deep into the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve for an immersive experience of rainforest life. You will stay in a locally run eco-lodge and be guided by expert Amazon naturalist guides as you move by canoe through narrow rivers and flooded forest. Mornings often bring mist over the water and the jungle’s soundscape changes into a chorus at night.
Along the way you’ll combine soft trekking, canoe paddling and wildlife observation, and you may explore remote lagoons and side channels. You may spot monkeys, pink river dolphins, caimans and a variety of colourful birds, though sightings cannot be guaranteed. The journey also includes cultural encounters with Indigenous communities, offering insight into local life and traditions. Activities are run in small groups with a low-impact approach, and the programme places emphasis on conservation and community support, so your visit aims to be respectful of both people and nature.
