At the TOSSASUB Instructor Training Center you'll take part in a scuba diving christening at sea. An instructor will give an introduction covering how the equipment works, how to breathe and move underwater, and the hand signals used for communication. After you are issued the necessary kit, you'll be taken to the beach to perform the baptism dive, always under instructor supervision and to a maximum depth of 12 metres. After the dive you will return to the centre where you can shower and change.
You must not have heart, respiratory or ear problems, and you must not be pregnant. You must also not fly for at least 12 hours after the activity. The minimum age is 8 years; children aged 8 and 9 need parental or guardian authorisation and will be limited to a maximum depth of 6 metres. Please let the centre know in advance if any child will take part.
