At Barcelona Zoo you'll explore leafy enclosures and meet more than 2,000 animals representing over 300 species. As you move through the grounds you'll encounter giraffes and gorillas alongside reptiles and a variety of exotic birds. Highlights include the Komodo dragon enclosure and the aviary filled with colourful parrots and other tropical birds. Families will find a children’s farm where younger visitors can get up close to ponies, pigs and the iconic Catalan donkey.
Along the way you'll learn about the zoo’s work in conservation, research and breeding programmes. Information throughout the site gives you the chance to understand the efforts being made to protect biodiversity. It’s a relaxed way to escape the city for a few hours while enjoying nature and observing animals from around the world.
