At iFLY Basingstoke you'll float inside an 800-horsepower vertical wind tunnel that creates a wall-to-wall cushion of air—the same type of airflow commonly used by professional skydivers, without having to jump from a plane. Almost anyone can fly and no previous experience is needed. As the tunnel operator raises the wind speed, you and your instructor will lift off and feel the rush of floating in a powerful air column.
You will experience wind speeds of around 130 to 175 mph (209 to 282 kph) while a stable, wall-to-wall airflow keeps you centred so you don't fall away from the column. An instructor will be on hand at all times to guide your body position and help you enjoy two solo flights during the session. Sessions include up to 13 people, and the two one-on-one flights provide the same freefall time as three tandem skydives. Along the way you'll learn basic flying technique and receive hands-on coaching to make the most of each flight.
