You will explore Bristol on a guided walk that brings together the city’s trade and industry past with its lively present. As you move through the Old City and Georgian Square, the route will take you past the Cathedral, the Harbour and Docks, the site of the Castle, the Old Vic and the corn exchange, with stops at markets and historic guild sites. Along the way you’ll see Banksy’s street art, other notable street art and the Sugar House, and pass the city’s famous ‘Bridge’.
The walk is kept intentionally small, with a maximum of six people, and covers roughly 12,000 steps (about 3–4 miles). Each person will use an audio receiver so the guide can be heard clearly above city noise. The style is interactive, flexible, light-hearted and personal. Your guide moved to Bristol in 1980, attended Bristol Polytechnic (now UWE), has lived, played rugby and worked in the city over four decades, and continues to research its history as a hobby. Nature breaks are limited, so plan ahead when needed.
