This tour follows in the footsteps of your favourite Outlander characters on a scenic route from Edinburgh. Heading north across the Firth of Forth, you will visit the Tuilyies Standing Stones — much like the stones used in the series as markers where travellers can pass through time. You will then explore the Royal Burgh of Culross, a well-preserved 17th-century village that appears as Claire’s herb garden and the Mercat Cross in Cranesmuir. Along the way you’ll pass the imposing Stirling Castle, set high on volcanic rock.

As you continue, the tour typically includes stops in Linlithgow, where you can take time for lunch and see Linlithgow Palace — used as Wentworth Prison in Outlander (this visit may be an optional extra). Visits to Doune Castle, the Castle Leoch set, and to Blackness Castle, the Fort William location, are also offered as optional extras. In summer the route may include Midhope Castle, the backdrop for Lallybroch; if Midhope is closed for filming or the tour runs in winter, the guide will instead stop at the Forth Bridges to view three centuries of Scottish engineering. The tour returns to Edinburgh afterwards, leaving you free to explore the city further or continue your Outlander viewing.
