Axe throwing may be relatively new to the UK, but it is quickly gaining popularity. You’ll find it unexpectedly satisfying — the moment an axe sticks just right in the board is hard to beat. Many people find it addictive once they pick up the correct technique. The overall experience is relaxed and unique, and you may be surprised even if you’ve tried axe throwing before, because outdoor axe throwing is very different to indoor.
With safety measures in place, the activity is 100% safe. You’ll begin with an introduction to axe throwing and the different ways to throw. After a few practice throws you’ll move on to scoring targets made of concentric rings, where each ring scores more than the last and the dead-centre bullseye carries the highest points. Over five rounds you’ll aim to score the most points and beat the opposition, then you’ll take part in a team round. Along the way you’ll get repeats of practice and coaching so you can refine your technique and enjoy the challenge.
