On this day trip from Volos to Delphi, you’ll visit some of Greece’s most famous historical sites. The journey begins at Thermopylae, the legendary battlefield where King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans made their last stand against the Persian army. Here you’ll see the monument dedicated to the fallen warriors and learn about the site’s dramatic past. You’ll then continue to Delphi, once considered the centre of the world, and visit the Archaeological Museum of Delphi. As you move through the Sanctuary of Apollo, you’ll explore the place where the Oracle of Delphi once delivered her cryptic prophecies and admire well-preserved ruins, including the Temple of Apollo and the ancient theatre, set against sweeping mountain views.
Along the way you'll stop in Arachova, a charming mountain village known for its traditional stone houses and cosy atmosphere. You’ll have time to enjoy a leisurely meal at a taverna and sample the local cuisine before returning, carrying with you memories of Greece’s rich history and stunning landscapes.
