Up to 24 hours before the start time

Join Aidan and Maggie Mae at Bertra Beach, at the foot of Croagh Patrick just outside Westport, to meet their purebred Irish wolfhounds Máirtín, Grace and Morrigan. Irish wolfhounds are an ancient Irish breed, indigenous to Ireland and among the largest dog breeds. You will be introduced to the dogs and can greet and cuddle them, learning how they prefer to be petted and scratched while watching them run and play on the sand.

As you spend time with the pack, Aidan will share stories from Irish mythology and explain why lords and kings historically kept wolfhounds by their sides. He can answer any questions you have about the dogs’ care, eating habits, personalities or other aspects of their lives. At the end of the visit you can take photos of the dogs yourself, or Aidan can take pictures of you holding them. When you leave, you will have made two wolfhound friends.
