Triund sits in the foothills of the Dhauladhar Ranges in Kangra district, Himachal, close to Dharamshala at an altitude of around 2,850 m. As you move up the trail, you will enjoy wide, majestic views of the surrounding hills and high ridgelines. The summer months are typically pleasant, and you will feel a cool hill breeze as you climb. Temperatures drop after October and snowfall may be seen from January to March.
The trek covers a total distance of about 7 km and is considered easy to moderate, so even beginners can attempt it. You should be healthy and have good stamina to complete the walk. After the 7 km ascent you will reach the site at Triund where camping is done. Camping under the stars at that height, with the mountains around you, will be a memorable part of the visit.
