This excursion on Monte Bianco takes the Skyway futuristic cable car from Courmayeur up to Punta Helbronner station at 3,500 m in a heated, rotating cabin. The ascent is in two stages: the first reaches Pavillon du Mont Frety at about 2,000 m, where you will have lunch, and the second climbs to Punta Helbronner. At the top several observation decks give views of Dente del Gigante, the Cresta di Rochefort and the glaciers on the mountain. The experience combines high-altitude scenery with enogastronomic, high-quality food on the slopes of what is often called the top of Europe.
You can choose to head straight up in the morning, visit the highest point, then descend to the Pavillon for lunch and return to the base. Alternatively, you may have lunch at the Pavillon and spend the afternoon at altitude, leaving when the cableway closes. Along the way you will enjoy panoramic views and time on the observation platforms to take in the surrounding peaks and ice fields.
