You will be accompanied by a local guide as you explore the real Padua on foot. The walk will take you past the broad sweep of Prato della Valle and to the Basilica of Sant’Antonio, known as “Il Santo”, a building that blends different styles and serves as a hub of cultures from all corners of the world. Along cobbled streets and beneath medieval arcades, you will move towards the beating heart of the old town.
As you go, you will pass through the Ancient Ghetto with its narrow lanes and familiar local spots that have become meeting places for Paduans and students. You will see Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza della Frutta and Piazza dei Signori, areas that are often animated by the stalls of the Point of Sale and by the crowds in the historic covered Point of Sale Under the Salon. Passing through the atrium of Palazzo Bo, home of the University of Padua, the tour will finish with a tasting “alla padovana” at the historic Caffè Pedrocchi, giving you a final taste of local tradition.
