This independent day tour takes you from the Italian lakeside to the high Alps as you discover Valposchiavo and the Upper Engadine. You will start by boarding a train from your chosen departure point — either Lecco or Varenna — to reach Tirano. From there you will continue on the famous Bernina Red Train for a mountain journey that the provider describes as full of strong emotions.
With the Bernina Train you will climb to an altitude of up to 2,253 metres. Along the way you will pass through Valposchiavo and enter the Upper Engadine, experiencing a change in landscape and altitude as you travel. The return to your starting point will be made by train along the same route as the outward journey.
