In Alba, you’ll meet a professional truffle hunter from a family with three generations of experience. His grandfather, after the Second World War, was among the first truffle hunters in the area and passed his knowledge to the host’s father, who then taught him. As a dog trainer, he works with three dogs — Lisa, Palli and Isi — who will be part of the experience.
The host would like to share some of his truffle-hunting secrets with you. You’ll see how he and the dogs work together and gain insight into family techniques and the practical side of hunting. Along the way, Margherita, a friend and an official tourist guide with a passion for truffles and local culture, will help and translate every part of the hunt. You’ll observe dog handling and training, hear about the tradition passed down through generations, and learn about the local truffle culture as the hunt is explained to you.
