You will begin the excursion in the town and, after a short walk, reach the 'old cemetery' — a small cluster of tombs dating to the early 1900s set among lush vegetation. From there you will follow a beautiful path as it climbs to about 400 metres above sea level. From this safe vantage point, at roughly 350–400 metres as the crow flies, you can observe the fascinating explosions of the craters and take in views of the famous Sciara del Fuoco.
After a long stop at the viewpoint you will return to the town via the Punta Labronzo mule track. The route brings you back along a traditional path used in the area, completing the loop to the starting point.
